Mine Sites

The following links give you more information on mining sites in North Wales, including places important to the mining communities such as welfare clubs and meeting places.

There are three major online databases about mining remains: Clwyd-Powys Archaeological Trust (CPAT), Royal Commission on the Ancient & Historical Monuments of Wales (RCAHMW), and Shropshire Historic Environment Record (SHER).

One of the oldest collieries in North Wales with 315 years of operation.

Early 19th century lead mine on Halkyn Mountain, worked the Pant Vein.
